This only works on files with a .pptx extension (PowerPoint 2007/2010).You must be able to see the extension of the file in order to do this. Replace the .pptx with a .zip. Windows will complain when you do this but go ahead. Open the .zip file and look inside. All the media jpegs, pngs, and most importantly any embedded videos will now be completely available. They can be copied and moved out of the file with no hassle. By the way, rename your PowerPoint file with the correct extension and it is back to its original form and works perfectly.
